Tarawneh meets with Iraqi counterpart

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh on Tuesday reiterated the Kingdom's supportive stance to Iraq. During a meeting with his Iraqi counterpart Muhammad Al Halbousi, Tarawneh highlighted the importance of coordinating parliamentary efforts and activating the role of diplomatic parliamentary procedures in international forums, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Wednesday.
Tarawneh underscored the Kingdom's firm stance towards maintaining Iraq's unity, sovereignty and stability, as well as rejecting the utilisation of Iraq as a battlefield for international and regional conflicts.
Halbousi expressed appreciation for the Kingdom's support, stressing his country's keenness to advance cooperation with Jordan in various fields for the best interests of the two sides.
