Tarawneh, Majali meet with US delegation

AMMAN — Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh on Thursday received a delegation from the Centre for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, headed by Jon Alterman, director of its Middle East programme.
Tarawneh outlined the recent developments in the regional and international arenas, especially anti-terrorism efforts.
Also on Thursday, Interior Minister Hussein Majali met with the delegation.
Majali said that the war on Daesh militants shows Jordan’s determination to fight terror and highlight Islam’s message of peace and tolerance.
The minister also mentioned the effect of the Syrian refugee crisis on resource-limited Jordan, calling for international support.
For their part, the delegates commended the “wise role” of the Jordanian leadership in dealing with regional issues.
