Tarawneh discusses regional issues with German lawmakers

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh on Thursday linked the rise of regional radicalism and terrorism to the absence of a just solution to the long-running Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
Tarawneh’s made the remarks during a meeting with a German parliamentary delegation, according to a House statement.
Tarawneh reviewed Jordan’s economic, social and security burdens resulting from turbulent situations in neighbouring countries.
He stressed that the international community’s contribution to Syrian refugee assistance does not exceed 30 per cent.
Tarawneh also stressed the importance of enhancing Jordanian-German parliamentary cooperation.
