AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh on Wednesday reiterated Jordan’s unaltered stances on the Palestinian issue and Jerusalem.
During a meeting with British Ambassador Edward Oakden, Tarawneh said that any solution that disregards the historical and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, at the top of which are establishing an independent Palestinian state and the rights of return and compensation, will not be viable and will only contribute to more chaos and tension in the region, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Oakden expressed his country’s appreciation for His Majesty King Abdullah’s endeavours in realising peace and stability in the region, highlighting the importance of sustaining coordination and consultation between London and Amman.
