AMMAN — Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel have arrested three suspects in east Amman who confessed to attempting to scam a citizen, the Public Security Department (PSD) said Tuesday.
The suspects reportedly attempted to take JD200,000 from a citizen in return for excavating underground “valuables”.
They were found in possession of copper relics used to deceive the victim. The suspects confessed to scamming another victim two years ago in the same way and taking JD160,000 from him.
The PSD also said that Amman CID personnel arrested an Arab woman who stole a jewellery box containing 50 gold rings from a jewellery shop and left.
The woman confessed to committing the theft and the rings were returned to the shop owner.
