SSIF issues sixth sustainability report

AMMAN — The Social Security Investment Fund (SSIF) has issued the sixth sustainability report for the year 2022, highlighting the fund’s key achievements in environmental, social and governance (ESG) areas in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and ESG principles.

SSIF CEO Ezzeddin Kanakrieh said that the voluntary report reflects the SSIF’s commitment to investing responsibly and enhancing investors’ trust through promoting transparent reporting of the impact of the fund’s activities and investments on the financial sustainability of the Social Security and the national economy, as well as their environmental and social impact, according to a SSIF statement.

The report addresses the institutional governance and control systems that rule the SSIF’s business in accordance with international best practices, SSIF investment policy and the strategic directions. It also includes a detailed financial analysis of SSIF’s portfolio which is distributed among vital sectors of the Jordanian economy.

The report sheds light on developing the institutional capacity, risk management, business continuity and digital transformation methods, women’s empowerment, along with initiatives targeting water and energy conservation, paper recycling and social responsibility.

The report also highlights the accomplishments in making SSIF’s headquarters and website accessible for persons with disabilities.
