AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Abdulmunim Oddat on Saturday called on MPs to convene on Monday in its first ordinary session to elect its 15 permanent committees.
The House elects its committees, each comprising 11 members as a maximum and five as a minimum, at the start of its ordinary session, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Consensus can be reached on the formation of the committees according to the Executive Office's decision based on the proportional representation of parliamentary blocs.
If a decision cannot be reached within 14 days from the start of the ordinary session, then members are elected if the number of candidates exceeds the prescribed number, and each committee elects its own chairman and rapporteur.
