Six suspected drug smugglers arrested, 80,000 pills seized

AMMAN — Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel have foiled two separate attempts to smuggle narcotic pills and arrested the involved suspects, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The personnel received a tip-off that several suspects were preparing to smuggle narcotics out of the Kingdom. They identified the suspects and ambushed them, confiscating the narcotics.
In the first case, a vehicle carrying 45,000 narcotic pills was stopped and three suspects were arrested and referred to the judiciary. In the other case, three suspects were arrested, two of whom are Arab nationals, and agents found 35,000 narcotic pills in hidden compartments in their vehicle, according to Petra.
