Shweikeh holds talks with UK envoy, Khawaldeh

AMMAN — ICT Minister Majd Shweikeh met on Sunday with UK Ambassador to Jordan Edward Oakden to discuss bilateral cooperation in the ICT sector.

Shweikeh briefed Oakden on a number of the ministry’s programmes, especially the fibre optic network project and its implementation in the Kingdom’s central and southern regions.

Oakden commended the relations between the two countries as well as the advancement of the Kingdom in the ICT field.

Also on Sunday, Shweikeh met with Public Sector Development Minister Khleef Al Khawaldeh to discuss cooperation to present an initial vision on the new approach of the e-government programme in order to boost the services offered to the public.

The two ministers agreed to combine the e-government plan with the Public Sector Development Ministry’s plan to prepare guidebooks for government services.
