AMMAN — Amman Mayor Yousef Shawarbeh on Thursday discussed bilateral cooperation in municipal affairs with Nablus Mayor Adly Yaish, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. During the meeting, Shawarbeh stressed the Greater Amman Municipality’s (GAM) keenness in providing services to Nablus and all other Palestinian municipalities in various technical and logistic fields.

For his part, Yaish said that Nablus was under siege by Israel in 2000, noting that His Majesty King Abdullah sent a field hospital that had a great role in helping the people of the city.

Nablus Chamber of Commerce President Omar Hashem stressed that Jordan is vital for trade for Palestine, highlighting the need to improve transport links with Jordan. During his visit to the occupied West Bank, Shawarbeh also visited the municipalities of Ramallah, Hebron and Bethlehem.
