AMMAN — The Public Security Department (PSD) on Thursday said its criminal investigation teams had arrested three suspects for impersonating police officers in Aqaba, 330km south of Amman. The suspects misled foreigners to steal money from them, according to the PSD statement.
The suspects reportedly stopped foreigners, introducing themselves as PSD personnel, searched them and stealing their money.
The suspects confessed to committing several similar thefts, the PSD said. In Amman, another man was arrested for impersonating a police officer and stealing JD100 from a non-Jordanian, the statement added.
