Series of activities held to mark International Volunteer Day

AMMAN — The Ministry of Youth on Sunday held a series of activities with the wide participation of young pioneers in volunteer work, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The events were held in partnership with the Crown Prince Foundation, the National Youth Engagement and Volunteering Platform (Nahno), the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and the UN Volunteers Programme, in parallel with the launch of the Al Hussein Bin Abdullah II Award for Voluntary Service and Jordanian Volunteerism Charter.
Youth Minister Mohammad Nabulsi said that the ministry is keen, through its programmes and partnerships with various institutions, on promoting a culture of volunteering.
In her speech, UNICEF representative in Jordan Tania Chapuisat affirmed UNICEF's commitment to young people in Jordan by facilitating access to volunteer opportunities.
