Senate president, Russia ambassador discuss ties, economic cooperation

AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez and Russian Ambassador to Jordan Gleb Desyatnikov on Wednesday discussed means of advancing Jordanian-Russian relations in various fields.
Fayez, during the meeting, emphasised the importance of coordinating anti-coronavirus efforts, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Talks also went over the necessity of enhancing the two countries’ investment and business ties, notably easing the Jordanian agricultural products’ access to the Russian market.
The two sides also touched on the regional crises, notably the Mideast peace process and the Syrian crisis. Fayez called on the major powers to push towards a just solution for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, in accordance with international legitimacy and the two-state solution.
The Russian envoy reiterated his country’s keenness on building on the “solid” Amman-Moscow ties, which are based on mutual respect.
