AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez on Thursday received the 2016 report of the Audit Bureau from its President Abed Kharabsheh.

Fayez praised the efforts exerted by the bureau in preparing the report and said he will refer the report to the Senate’s specialised committees to review it.

He voiced the bureau’s keenness to acquaint the Senate with the nature of its work, as well as violations committed in public institutions, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Also on Thursday, Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh received Kharabsheh who delivered him a copy of the report.

Tarawneh said that the House takes the bureau’s reports seriously and examines them with great attention through its specialised committees.

The speaker called on the bureau to focus on issues related to administrative weaknesses and tax evasion.  Kharabsheh expressed the bureau’s readiness to cooperate with the Lower House to achieve Jordan’s higher interests.
