Senate panel discusses decentralisation with EU official

AMMAN — The Senate’s Administrative Committee on Thursday met with Lazhar Aloui, head of the EU project to support civil society organisations.
Aloui said decentralisation is essential in achieving administrative success, local development, and popular participation.
Senate President Abdur-Ra’uf S. Rawabdeh said decentralisation is an advanced approach in governance that contributes to empowering citizens to participate in decision making.
