AMMAN — Senator Ihsan Barakat, head of the Senate's Jordanian-Dutch Friendship Committee, on Wednesday highlighted the importance of the Dutch stance towards the Palestinian cause, which supports the two-state solution.

During a committee meeting with Netherland's Ambassador to Jordan Harry Verweij, Barakat praised the relations between Jordan and the Netherlands and the friendship ties between His Majesty King Abdullah and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, which plays a role in further developing bilateral relations, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Barakat stressed the importance of benefiting from the Team Europe support to Jordan's efforts in securing more water for Jordanians with the use of green energy and limiting climate change impacts.

Verweij praised King Abdullah's role in enhancing partnership between the kingdoms, mainly on issues pertaining to the current developments in the region.

He referred to Jordan’s distinguished role in dealing with refugees and providing them with basic services, such as residence, health and education.
