AMMAN — Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman will visit Jordan during next week as part of a regional tour he began on Thursday, according to an informed source.

The prince left Riyadh on Thursday for working visits to a number of Arab countries, the Saudi Press Agency reported, citing a Saudi Royal Court statement.

The crown prince's tour comes upon the directives of Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz as part of Riyadh's "keenness on enhancing Saudi relations regionally and internationally", the statement said without elaborating on stops scheduled in the tour.

The source, who is familiar with the plan, told The Jordan Times that a visit to Jordan "sometime next week" is on the agenda of Bin Salman's tour, which will take him to the UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, Algeria, Mauritania and Tunisia, in addition to Jordan.

The Saudi Royal Court's statement said that the crown prince's visits also came in response to invitations from heads of states of the Arab countries on his itinerary.
