Saqqaf showcases upcoming integrated investment platform at AIM Global 2023

AMMAN — Over the past two years, the government has introduced several reforms at the legislative, organisational and institutional levels to organise the Kingdom’s investment process, Investment Minister Kholoud Saqqaf said on Wednesday.
Speaking during a special session organised by the ministry as part of the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM Global 2023) in Abu Dhabi, Saqqaf said that the government introduced the Ministry of Investment to act as the main reference for investment in the Kingdom, according to a ministry statement.
During the session, titled "Exploring investment aspects and opportunities in Jordan", which was attended by Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit and several ministers, international experts, businesspeople, the minister discussed the Investment Ministry’s many ongoing initiatives that aim to make Jordan a competitive and attractive investment destination.
In public-private partnerships, Saqqaf revealed that a range of financeable projects have been identified, including investment opportunities in the water, transport, digital economy and education sectors.
An integrated investment platform will soon be launched to promote investment in Jordan (Invest.Jo), she announced. The platform will highlight promising investment opportunities in all sectors, and will help facilitate local and global investor communication.
Saqqaf called on investors and international institutions to direct their investments to the Jordanian market and utilise the country’s strategic location. The minister also noted that Jordan enjoys strong relations with the US as well as many Arab, European countries, and has free trade agreements with many nations which allow products manufactured in Jordan to reach a consumer market of some 1.5 billion people.
