Salary deductions do not exempt from income tax declaration — ISTD

AMMAN — The Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD) on Wednesday said that the deduction of income tax from any salary, wage or service allowance does not exempt the taxpayer from submitting the income tax declaration if the annual income of a single person exceeds JD12,000 and JD24,000 for a household, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Wednesday.
In a statement, the ISTD called on income taxpayers to electronically fill the income tax statements for 2017 with factual and correct information to avoid being subjected to fines and to include the information related to their economic activities.
The ISTD urged taxpayers who did not register in the electronic services to obtain a username and a password from the nearest department or tax service centre.
