Safadi, UK minister talk ties, region

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and UK Secretary of State for the Home Department Priti Patel on Sunday discussed means to enhance cooperation between the two kingdoms in Manama.
On the sidelines of the 16th Manama Dialogue Meeting, Safadi and Patel went over the latest regional developments, mainly those pertaining to the Palestinian cause, efforts to end the Syrian crisis and the developments in Iraq, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
The two sides also highlighted the importance of coordination in endeavours to reach solutions to regional crises and realise security and stability, stressing the need to support the efforts of the Iraqi government in reconstruction and instilling security and stability.
They also called for going on with the partnership in fighting terrorism that is “a joint enemy”, discussing means to further enhance such cooperation in this field.
