Safadi, Spanish foreign minister discuss ties, region over phone

AMMAN — Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Tuesday received a phone call from Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares.
The discussions focused on exploring broader cooperation opportunities in various fields and advancing cooperation and coordination over international and regional issues of shared interest, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
The two ministers also went over preparations for the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) Regional Forum for Foreign Ministers, co-chaired by the Kingdom and the European Union, as well as preparations for the upcoming meeting of the EU-Jordan partnership council.
Safadi and Albares expressed keenness to maintain joint coordination and action to serve the interests of both countries.
