Safadi, Iranian Foreign Minister discuss regional issues in phone call

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Monday discussed, during a phone call, efforts to halt Israeli aggression on Gaza and the immediate delivery of sufficient humanitarian aid. They also discussed the danger of drug smuggling across the Syrian borders into Jordan, emphasising the need for an immediate ceasefire and halting the aggression on Gaza. They also addressed the humanitarian catastrophe in the besieged strip and the risk of war escalation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Abdollahian conveyed Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s greetings to His Majesty King Abdullah, and praised the pivotal role of the Kingdom and the efforts led by His Majesty in supporting the Palestinian cause. Safadi affirmed the Kingdom's commitment to achieving regional stability, security and peace. He added that Jordan considers drug smuggling across the Syrian borders a threat to national security and will take all necessary measures to combat it.
