AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Ayman Safadi and German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock on Friday stressed the “solid” partnership between the two countries and agreed to continue developing cooperation and enhancing coordination.
Safadi and Baerbock, in a phone call, discussed existing cooperation between Jordan and Germany in economic, development and defence projects as well as prospects for expanding this cooperation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Safadi praised Germany's support to the Kingdom, helping it deal with economic challenges and the impacts of regional, economic, demographic and security crises.
The two ministers went over several regional and international issues including the Palestinian cause and the Syrian and Ukrainian crises.
Safadi expressed appreciation for Germany's supportive position regarding the two-state solution and for the country’s respect for the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its holy sites.
The two ministers agreed to continue bilateral coordination as well as across the Munich Group in efforts to re-launch the peace process and achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.
They also agreed to meet next month in Munich on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference to continue talks as part of the ongoing consultation and coordination process between Jordan and Germany.
