Safadi, Dutch minister talk ties, region

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, in a phone call on Wednesday, discussed ways to boost bilateral ties with Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Sigrid Kaag.
Safadi expressed appreciation for the Netherlands’ support to the Kingdom in the face of economic challenges intensified by the unprecedented spread of COVID-19.
Both ministers also discussed regional developments, mainly the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the Netherlands’ positive stance towards the two-state solution which would contribute to achieving peace in the region in accordance with international law, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
Safadi expressed gratitude for the Netherlands’ contribution to ensure the continuance of operations of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
