Safadi calls new Swedish counterpart, discusses ties

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, in a phone call with the new Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billstrom, discussed bolstering cooperation between the two kingdoms as part of Jordan’s partnership with the EU, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The two sides stressed the solidity of bilateral ties, voicing keenness to broaden cooperation and coordination. They also highlighted the importance of increasing coordination on regional and international issues and intensifying efforts to resolve regional crises and achieve security and stability.
Safadi and Billstrom also reviewed preparations for the state visit of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden to Jordan in November, which reflects the depth of relations between the two countries.
Safadi congratulated Billstrom on assuming his role as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden.
