AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Tuesday discussed efforts to stop the serious escalation in the region and deliver sufficient and immediate humanitarian aid to Gaza and Lebanon.

During a phone call, Safadi stressed that ending Israeli aggression against Gaza is essential for regional de-escalation, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

The minister also called for a cessation of hostilities in Lebanon and the full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

Safadi also stressed the need to stop Israeli actions in the occupied West Bank, urging Israel to end violations at Jerusalem's holy sites and to respect the established historical and legal status quo.

The two officials also addressed several bilateral issues during their talks.
