Ryanair CEO leads delegation on visit to Petra

AMMAN — CEO of Ryanair Eddie Wilson on Tuesday led a delegation on a visit to Petra, the rose-red city. Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) Suleiman Farajat acquainted the delegation with Petra's pivotal role at global and national tourism levels given that it is the region's most important tourist destination on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Farajat highlighted Ryanair and other low-cost carriers' crucial contribution in attracting and increasing the number of tourists from various European countries to Jordan.
The airline has signed an agreement with the Jordan Tourism Board to increase the number of routes to 25 and facilitate connections between the Kingdom and 12 European cities. Over 600,000 passengers are anticipated to travel to and from Jordan annually on more than 100 weekly flights.
