AMMAN — The 9th International Conference of the Royal Medical Services (RMS), which was held at the King Hussein Convention Centre in the Dead Sea area, concluded on Friday, having attracted some 200 speakers from 50 Arab and foreign countries.

The fourth and final day of the conference included an RMS military medical exhibition, where participating delegations had a firsthand look at field hospitals and surgical equipment used in field and military medicine, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Through the conference, the RMS aims at showcasing the level of proficiency and development of field and military medicine that can establish a field hospital in any remote area within 24 hours.

The exhibition included mobile field hospitals, paramedic stations, a biological lab and the sixth special field hospital that has recently entered service as a gift from His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, to the RMS.

King Abdullah on Tuesday acted as patron of the event’s inauguration, held under the title “Pioneering in Healthcare: Duties and Challenges”.

On the sidelines of conference, King Abdullah also inaugurated the second edition of the Jordan Health Exhibition, in which 85 local and global companies are taking part, and reviewed the most advanced medical equipment in the world of medical technology.

Heads and members of the participating delegations commended the “distinguished level” achieved by the RMS, as well as the “great” reputation and expertise its personnel have gained through partaking in peacekeeping forces and relieving countries that suffer from wars and natural crises.
