AMMAN — Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi on Thursday unveiled Royal initiative projects in Mafraq and Irbid, which were enacted in response to His Majesty King Abdullah’s directives following field visits and interactive meetings with the residents and dignitaries of both governorates.

In the presence of Minister of Youth Mohammad Al Nabulsi, Issawi, who is also the head of the follow-up committee for the implementation of Royal initiatives, inaugurated the Prince Hashem Sports Complex series, starting with Mafraq and Irbid.

The ceremony included the opening of two five-a-side football fields at the Rahab Youth Centre and the Umm Qais Club.

The Prince Hashem Sports Complex series is part of a larger set of Royal initiatives across the Kingdom.

Issawi also inaugurated the Urban Village Park in Al Kourah District, marking a collaborative effort with the Zaha Cultural Centre as part of a productive partnership with civil society institutions.

During his visit to the park facilities, Issawi received an overview of the services provided to the local community from Rania Sabih, the executive director of the Zaha Cultural Centre.

The Urban Village Park features designated areas for children, a food production kitchen, a soap production workshop and sports fields, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

Issawi highlighted that His Majesty, along with HRH Crown Prince Hussein and HRH Prince Hashem place great importance on youth and sport-focused initiatives.

Nabulsi stated that the Prince Hashem Sports Complex initiative will contribute to nurturing the creativity and skills of young people, while ensuring sustainability through collaborative efforts with the Royal Court.

Representatives from the local community acknowledged the initiatives' positive impact on the development and improvement of services across all fields.
