AMMAN — A Royal Decree has been issued ratifying the by-law on political party financing, which was endorsed by the Cabinet, said Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs Musa Maaytah on Monday. The by-law will be published in the Official Gazette on Thursday, Maaytah said.
Under the amended by-law, political parties participating in the elections will be able to apply for an advance of up to JD20,000, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
This advance will be deducted from a larger sum due to be disbursed to each party in December, the minister noted, adding that parties should be able to start receiving the advance within the next week. An application form for the advance will be available on the ministry’s website by the end of the week, he added.
