Royal Court chief meets with youth delegation from Balqa

AMMAN — Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi said that His Majesty King Abdullah’s historic speech delivered during the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday embodied "Jordan’s courageous stance regarding the suffering of the Palestinian people, who are facing brutal warfare, genocide, and starvation at the hands of the Israeli war machine."

 

Issawi, during a meeting with a delegation of youth from Balqa Governorate at the Royal Hashemite Court on Wednesday, added that His Majesty’s speech exposed the scale of the crimes committed by Israel in Gaza and the West Bank, in "blatant disregard of international treaties, laws, and resolutions, amid global inaction and the absence of international accountability," according to a Royal Court statement.

 

He noted that His Majesty’s speech reflected the voice of free human conscience, placing world leaders and international organizations in a test of their morality and humanity, and holding them accountable for their ethical responsibilities toward the tragedy of the Palestinian people. The speech also urged the need to put an end to Israel’s violations, aggressive practices, and attacks on Palestinian people, land, and Islamic and Christian holy sites.

 

Issawi emphasized that under His Majesty’s wise leadership, Jordan’s voice will continue to stand firm in advocating for justice, especially regarding its central cause — Palestine. He highlighted that the Hashemites have consistently carried the banner of this just cause in all international forums. Issawi also reiterated that, as King Abdullah II affirmed, Jordan will never accept the forced displacement of Palestinians from their land, which constitutes a war crime.

 

Issawi pointed out that the airdrops of medical supplies, which His Majesty is personally involved in, are still ongoing.

 

He also discussed the "Restoring Hope" initiative, launched under Royal directives, which aims to fit prosthetic limbs within an hour for those who have lost limbs. This initiative seeks to assist more than 14,000 injured individuals, including children, to help them continue their lives, reintegrate, and rehabilitate.

 

Issawi referred to the efforts of the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army (JAF), under Royal directives, to reinforce Jordanian field hospitals with medical and nursing staff, and to supply them with medical resources to ensure they remain fully operational in providing medical services to the people of Gaza.

 

He stressed that Jordan, under its Hashemite leadership, maintains a steadfast and unwavering position regarding the Palestinian cause, supporting the Palestinian people's right to establish their independent state along the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital, according to the statement. 

He affirmed that under no circumstances would Jordan accept any settlement of the Palestinian issue at the expense of its national interests, nor would it accept any solution that does not meet the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people.

 

For their part, the speakers reaffirmed their and all Jordanians’ unwavering support for His Majesty the King and his honorable, progressive, and courageous positions in defending the people of Gaza and the West Bank.
