AMMAN — The Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs on Wednesday released a statement on the 105th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, issued on November 2, 1917.
Secretary-General of the Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs Abdullah Kanaan said that the world and its organisations should always remember the tragic reality that Palestinians are experiencing, including killing, and displacement, in addition to the daily violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites, foremost of which is Al Aqsa Mosque.
The dangerous strategic content of the so-called "Balfour Declaration", of which more than six versions were drafted, focuses on the “unification of the Jewish and Zionist positions towards the necessity of establishing a national home for the Jewish people in Palestine”, he said, urging global media outlets to emphasise the dangers of the continuation of the Balfourian approach and the policy of siding with Israel at the expense of historical rights and Palestinian legitimacy, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
