AMMAN — Chairperson of the Royal Committee to Modernise the Political System Samir Rifai on Wednesday announced that the sub-committees have finished their work after sessions and meetings that extended over three months.
Rifai, during a meeting with members of the committees’ general assembly, said that the past months have heard different opinions, which were “expected, healthy and required” yet the “interest of the homeland was the common ground that no one deviated from,” the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The committee’s chairperson added that a positive engagement with society, media and political and popular figures characterised the work of the committee and its members.
He added that the committee’s work was based on the values of the Jordanian state and its Arab and Islamic identity.
The next step is to reach an advanced phase of modernising the political system and realising a partisan and parliamentary life that meets the aspirations of all Jordanians.
