AMMAN — The Royal Film Commission – Jordan (RFC) and Creativity Club – Al Karak have signed a one-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) that aims to establish a film centre in the city of Karak as well as a mobile cinema bus.
The MoU was signed by the RFC’s Managing Director, Mohannad Al Bakri, and the CEO of Creativity Club – Al Karak, Husam Tarawneh, at the commission’s premises in Amman, according to an RFC statement.
The inauguration of the centre in Karak comes within a series of similar film centres managed by the RFC in seven areas around the Kingdom, Irbid, Mafraq, Salt, Zarqa, Aqaba, Petra and Wadi Rum, and it is planned to establish this centre at the headquarters of Creativity Club – Al Karak.
The project aims to provide an educational and entertainment space for youth in the city through the film centre, where training workshops in the fields of film and television will be organised as well as free of charge screenings allowing them to watch quality international and Arab movies.
The project also includes a mobile cinema bus equipped with modern audio-visual equipment and devices in order to create a different educational environment that meets the requirements of today’s film and TV industry, according to the statement.
