AMMAN — With Jordan commemorating the World Day against Child Labour on Friday, more work is needed to ensure children's rights are safeguarded, according to the Information and Research Centre – King Hussein Foundation (IRCKHF).
In a statement sent to The Jordan Times, the IRCKHF cited a non-governmental periodic report it submitted in 2013, along with three other local NGOs, "that brought the issues of negative stereotypes of girls and its role in curtailing their rights, early marriage, child abuse and gender-based violence to the forefront".
"...The [IRCKHF] will continue its role in researching and advocating for the rights of all children in Jordan, but it is also the responsibility of all Jordanians to ensure their continued protection," it added.
The IRCKHF urged the public to join advocacy efforts via Facebook (IRCKHF), Twitter (IRC_KHF), Google + (+irckhfOrg), LinkedIn (company/Information-&-research-center) or by visiting the centre's website: www.irckhf.org.
