Regional conference on women’s political participation to kick off Friday

AMMAN — The Ministerial Committee for Women Empowerment is scheduled to hold a regional conference titled "Women in Political Parties in the Arab Region" on Friday. 

Held in partnership and cooperation with UN Women and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the two-day event will be attended by ministers, senators, MPs, members of municipal councils, representatives of foreign embassies in Jordan and a number of women studies and research centres, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

The event is also expected to attract women members of Coalition of Women MPs from Arab Countries to Combat Violence against Women, and experts and politicians from Morocco, Tunisia, Iraq, Algeria, Sudan, Libya, Palestine, Egypt, Bahrain, Lebanon, Norway and the UK.
