AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh on Sunday warned against infringements of Palestinians' legitimate rights.

During a Lower House session, Tarawneh called for combatting sedition through "adhering to unity" and the Kingdom's "firm constants" and highest interests.

He stressed that the region will not witness peace as long as the occupation continues, spreading hatred, extremism, killings, destruction and displacement.

"The occupation, which set fire to Badrieah Mosque, south of Jerusalem, and carries out continuous assaults against peaceful worshippers, perpetuates state terrorism and undermines peace efforts," the Jordan News Agency, Petra, quoted him as saying.

Referring to the so-called "Deal of the Century", Tarawneh reiterated his support for His Majesty King Abdullah's position on the issue, which maintains that Palestinians' rights should be upheld, Petra said.

His Majesty's adherence to the two-state solution, which aims at regional stability through implementing international legitimacy resolutions, as well as his support for the establishment of a fully sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, is "a point of consensus among people of good conscience", he said.
