AMMAN — The recent rainfall has supplied the Kingdom’s main dams with about 6 million cubic metres (mcm) of water during the past 72 hours until Monday morning, according to the Jordan Valley Authority (JVA).

The JVA said that the volume of rainwater poured into the dams from the beginning of the season amounted to 40 mcm, noting that the dams’ total storage reached 73 mcm, which constitutes some 26 per cent of their total storage capacity, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The JVA figures showed that the King Talal Dam witnessed the highest amount of precipitation during the recent depression, receiving 4 mcm of water.
