AMMAN — Prime Minister Omar Razzaz on Monday made an unannounced visit to the west Amman land registration directorate, following complaints regarding the quality of services the agency provides to citizens.
Razzaz said the visit followed two reports from the “mystery shopper” who had given the directorate a negative review on the “assess your experience” platform, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The premier stressed that the government had started evaluating the performance of all ministries and public service institutions based on the mystery shopper review.
The mystery shopper will visit the directorate again to reevaluate its performance, he said, adding that similar visits will be carried out in all public institutions and ministries and that negative assessments are completely unacceptable.
Measures taken, Razzaz said, would be warranted if follow-up reports indicate performance levels have not improved between the mystery shopper’s visits.
The duty of the public employee is to serve citizens during official working hours, the premier noted.
He engaged in conversations with people who happened to be at the directorate for business, listening to their remarks relating mainly to the quality of service they received.
They also made remarks to the premier on the time it takes to conclude their transactions and called on integrating e-payment methods to ease interaction with the directorate.
Razzaz cited the Cabinet’s recent decision to lower the basic real estate price offering by 20 per cent, whereby citizens will also be exempted from fees levied on ownership transfer and the consensual parcelling-out of land.
The premier said he expects land registration directorates in all regions of the Kingdom to witness a remarkable turnout to benefit from the government’s measures aimed at stimulating the market.
