Rainfall 2%-10% higher than seasonally expected —JMD

AMMAN — Rainfall levels have increased in most regions of the Kingdom in the past 48 hours, ranging between 1-31 per cent of the average annual rainfall.

During the recent weather depression, which affected the Kingdom from Monday morning through Wednesday, the bulk of rainfall was recorded in the northern, central and parts of the southern regions, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. Director of the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) Raed Al Khattab said that the data indicates that the rainfall in the eastern and west-central regions, including the central valleys, increased by approximately 2-10 per cent more than expectations at this time of the season. Meanwhile, rainfall has reached between 90-93 per cent of expectations in the northern and eastern regions of the Kingdom, he noted.
