Queen Rania Centre for Entrepreneurship at PSUT launches 14th Global Entrepreneurship Week in partnership with Zain

AMMAN — Under the patronage of HRH Princess Sumaya Bint El Hassan, Chair of PSUT’s Board of Trustees, The Queen Rania Centre for Entrepreneurship (QRCE) at Princess Sumaya University for Technology announced the launch of the 14th Global Entrepreneurship Week 2022 in Jordan, in partnership with Zain-Jordan through its innovation platform (ZINC).

The activities of the week, extended from November 14 to November 20, included several fields, most notably: environmental systems, education, inclusion and politics. Ninety partners took part in nearly 500 events, which were held face-to-face and via zoom in Amman and other governorates.

During a press conference held at (ZINC), Zain’s headquarters, in King Hussein Business Park, Acting President of PSUT Wejdan Abu Elhaija said that the university is keen to provide students with opportunities to present their entrepreneurial ideas and face the challenges of the labour market, in accordance with the directives of Princess Sumaya, according to a PSUT statement. 

Since its establishment on the university campus, the QRCE has been developing and supporting technical entrepreneurship in Jordan by organising many activities that served thousands of entrepreneurs, professionals and students in Jordan, and helped put some successful Jordanian startups on the path of innovation and achievement.

Director of the QRCE Mohammad Obeidat expressed the centre’s pride in the partnerships that were held with the institutions of the supporting system of entrepreneurship in Jordan. 

Obediat also mentioned that having more than 90 partners, including universities, schools, and public and private sector institutions confirms that much has been achieved in the field of entrepreneurship. Participation in the week further confirms the need to achieve the desired economic development through developing the spirit of entrepreneurship in Jordan, the statement said.

Tariq Al Bitar, the Executive Director of the Department of Media, Communication, Innovation and Sustainability Management at Zain Jordan, expressed his happiness at the extended strategic partnership that brings together the Zain Innovation Platform (ZINC) with the QRCE at Princess Sumaya University for Technology.
