QAIA welcomes over 2.5m passengers in first four months of 2018

AMMAN — Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) welcomed a total of 2,541,458 passengers as of the end of April 2018, marking a noteworthy increase of 7.6 per cent in year-to-date passenger numbers compared to the same period last year, a statement by Airport International Group (AIG) said.
QAIA also witnessed 22,938 aircraft movements, a 0.7 per cent decrease from last year, in addition to having handled 34,225 tonnes of cargo during the first four months of 2018, indicating an 8.6 per cent increase.
Meanwhile, the airport registered 727,301 passengers in the month of April, reflecting a 5.5 per cent increase compared to April 2017. “It is encouraging to see such positive progress this April.
We are looking forward to the favourable results the summer and upcoming holiday seasons will bring, as visitors all around the world pass through our halls, whether on their way to exciting destinations or paying a visit to our beloved Jordan,” said AIG CEO Kjeld Binger.
