PSD director meets with other police chiefs at SOFEX 2022

AMMAN — Public Security Directorate (PSD) Director Maj. Gen. Obaidallah Maaytah on Tuesday met with heads of the police delegations taking part in SOFEX 2022 to discuss means of advancing bilateral relations.
Maaytah, at the SOFEX 2022 site, met with delegations from the New York, German, French, Italian, Turkish, United Arab Emirates and Oman police, in addition to the Palestinian Police and the Palestinian Civil Defence.
During the meetings, Maaytah highlighted the PSD’s openness to participatory approaches to promote security and peace at the regional and global levels, expressing the directorate’s constant quest to collaborate with the police services in those countries and benefit from their experience in various training and technical domains.
Global conditions and the development of cross-border and drug crimes necessitate joint action, he said.
Heads of the guest delegations expressed appreciation for Jordan’s efforts in hosting SOFEX 2022, highlighting the exhibitions importance in allowing them to learn from countries’ experiences in policing, expressing keenness to advance cooperation with the PSD in various police and security efforts, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
