Princess Sana Asem elected president of AREC Council of Wise

AMMAN — The Arab Renewable Energy Commission (AREC) has elected HRH Princess Sana Asem as the president of its Council of Wise. The decision was made following the recent executive bureau meeting and general conference held recently in Amman. Secretary-General of AREC Mohammad Taani highlighted that the Council of Wise, which serves as the highest steering body in the commission, consists of distinguished figures who are recognised for their significant contributions and influence in the field of renewable energy and sustainable development in the Arab world. The 9th International Investment Forum for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency is scheduled to be held in Amman in May, while Algeria will host the 9th Arab Forum for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in October, he said, adding that AREC aims to expand its cooperation with European and African countries to strengthen Arab and international cooperation towards leveraging the experience of advanced nations in renewable energy, energy efficiency, smart cities, green hydrogen and electric vehicles.
