Princess Rym meets with delegation from Norwegian Institute of Journalism

AMMAN — HRH Princess Rym Ali, founder of the Jordan Media Institute (JMI), on Wednesday met with a delegation from the Norwegian Institute of Journalism, including its president Siri Skaalmo and veteran journalists Frode Rekve and Torry Pederson.
During the meeting, the princess and guest delegation discussed the cooperation agreement between the two parties and ways to develop it. Both parties also explored potential future projects to enhance journalism and media training, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The key role of journalism and media in promoting values of justice, openness to others, acceptance of differences, and dialogue to push democracy forward were discussed.
The meeting also discussed the challenges artificial intelligence brings to newsrooms and the importance of enhancing critical thinking and analytical skills of journalists in using new technologies in a way that aligns with professional and ethical journalism values. Pederson, an expert in digital transformation, presented a two-day workshop for the institute's MA students on digital transformation and innovation.
