Princess Muna attends World Health Day celebration

AMMAN – HRH Princess Muna on Tuesday attended the regional celebration of World Health Day, which is held this year under the theme “From farm to plate, make food safe”.
WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Ala Alwan underlined the need to reform food security systems in the region and amend laws governing food.
For his part, Health Minister Ali Hiasat noted that the ministry pays special attention to monitoring food institutions, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
According to WHO, unsafe foods are the cause of more than 200 communicable and non-communicable diseases, killing around 2 million people annually around the world.
