Princess Basma inaugurates finance conference at Zarqa university

AMMAN — Zarqa Private University's 11th International Scientific Conference on shifts in finance and banking, titled "Reality vs Prospects" opened on Tuesday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The conference, inaugurated by HRH Princess Basma, is organised by the university's faculty of economics and administrative sciences, according to Petra.
The aim of the conference is to identify the characteristics of transformations in finance and banking, and explore the most significant positive and negative consequences of these developments on the present and the future.
Princess Basma commended efforts to hold international and specialised scientific conferences, noting that they create the opportunity to exchange experiences and opinions in light of the huge challenges the world is facing today.
She also welcomed the international participants in the Zarqa conference.
Ahmad Assaf, dean of the faculty of economics, said the conference represents a continuation of efforts by the university to host international meetings and offer a progressive view of universities' role in promoting scientific research and offering solutions to current problems.
Also speaking at the conference, the university's president, Mahmoud Al Wadi, called for benefiting from international fiscal developments to enhance the monitoring of the movement of national and international capital.
At the conference, attended by a number of lawmakers and officials, Princess Basma gave plaques to a number of supporters, and Wadi also presented a plaque to the princess, Petra reported.
