AMMAN — HRH Princess Basma, president of the Goodwill Campaign’s higher committee, on Wednesday participated in distributing aid to underprivileged families in Hay Al Hirsheh in Amman’s Jabal Al Naser area.

The assistance is part of the initiative’s emergency winter campaigns, implemented by the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development with the aim of helping underprivileged families that suffer from difficult living conditions, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Princess Basma delivered aid to 100 families in the area, which were chosen by the campaign in coordination with the local Zakat committee.

The assistance, provided by the campaign in cooperation with partners and supporters, included foodstuffs, blankets, coupons for fuel derivatives and winter clothes.

During a visit to Thabit Bin Qais mixed elementary school in Hay Al Hirsheh, which is affiliated with the Marka Education Directorate, the princess participated in distributing winter clothes and toys to 100 students.

Princess Basma also attended part of the entertainment and cultural activities that the school organised for its students and listened to a briefing by Marka Education Director Rabaah Abdullah on the educational process in the school and the need for a new facility to replace the current rented building.
