Princes condole flashflood victims’ families

AMMAN — Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Faisal, Prince Ali, Prince Hamzah and Prince Hashem on Saturday paid visits to the families of victims of Thursday's flashfloods near the Dead Sea.

Prince Faisal offered his condolences to the families of students Ikram Omoush, Majed Manaseh, Khalifeh Ajarmeh, Milar Abul Sundous and Mais Akkari, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Prince Hamzah visited the houses of condolences of Hashem Ziadat, Iraqi student Saad Zubaidi and the families of students Amr Hammouri, Talal Assaf, Tala Saleh and Reem and Hind Azzeh, while Prince Hashem offered condolences to the family of student Raya Quraan. 

Prince Ali offered condolences to the families of Iraqi student Naba Jassam and student Yousef Shoubaki.

On Friday, the King received cables of condolences and telephone calls from several Arab leaders and senior officials over the tragic incident near the Dead Sea, where 21 people, mostly schoolchildren died, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Bahraini King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, vice president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Iraqi President Barham Saleh Barham Saleh and Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, President of the Iraqi Parliament Mohammed Al Halbousi, Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri, Chairman of the Presidential Council of Libya Fayez Mustafa Al Sarraj, Arab Parliament Speaker Mishaal Bin Fahm Al Salami and chairman of Palestinian Businessmen Association Ali Hayek expressed their deep sorrow and heartfelt condolences to the King over the victims of the Dead Sea incident and wished the injured a speedy recovery. 

Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, who is also deputy supreme commander, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani expressed their sincere condolences to the Jordanian people and the government over the victims of the incident.

Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Yousef Al Othaimeen and the Jordan Evangelical Council expressed their sincere and warm condolences to the Jordanian people over the deaths in the Dead Sea incident.  

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi also on Friday received cables of condolences and telephone calls from his Egyptian, Iraqi, Palestinian and Cypriot counterparts who expressed their deep sorrow as well.
