Prince Mired calls for enhancing services to people with disabilities

NEW YORK — HH Prince Mired, president of the Higher Council for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities, on Wednesday stressed the importance of upgrading services extended to people with disabilities in various areas, including healthcare.
Prince Mired made the remarks in New York, where he was participating in the eighth session of Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Speaking to UN radio, the prince highlighted the achievements made in Jordan in this domain. He added that Jordan has a long way to go in this area and there are critical challenges, expressing his belief that the Kingdom can achieve progress.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Mainstreaming the rights of persons with disabilities in the post-2015 development agenda”.
